Summer Days

Hard to believe we were on vacation just a week ago enjoying the great life on Lake Powell. The weather was absolutely perfect - we had an awesome secluded cove we shared with another house boat who put on a fire works show every night comparable to 4th July! The water was like glass perfect for sking and playing all day in the sun.

This is truely a magical place where we love to go and enjoy getting away from it all with great friends. However, getting away from civilization does have it's drawbacks... we were without cell service for almost a week due to limited cell coverage throughout the canyons. I was beginning to go through with drawals not being able to keep a pulse on family and friends - not to mention my limited daily diet coke rations. Of course, the girls did great, safe travels for Coli driving back to BYU-I for her final semester and Dani is still nesting waiting for the baby to arrive.

The family did fine while we were away, but the dogs, our fury children, however fell apart missing us and went on a hunger strikes, including crying/howling out burst. Luckily for Skyler, Dani rescued her with nightly doggy slumber parties, at her house with the chocolate lab cousins, and then Cricket got sprung from the kennel two days early before we got home! They recovered quickly with a lil peanut butter and tlc!

After adjusting to a crazy week of catch up at work, we had house guests for the weekend - our friends who hosted us on their house boat popped in to play tourist. They loved the scenic drive up the coast to Hearst Castle and had a fun time visiting with friends and then a fun day at Danish Days, topped off with Abelskeviers.

Back on the blog highway, took a slight detour of trying to learn how to navigate blogging! Thanks to my girls tutorial, I'll stay the course and keep the news flowing - so much to celebrate! The lastest news... did you know, the "empty nesters" are going to be grandparents! A cool Grammy!

Danielle and James are expecting a baby in October, a boy! We are so excited in anticipation of this sweet babe joining our crazy family. Shopping for this lil guy has been so much fun preparing for his arrival - thank goodness little boys clothes are getting cuter!

Nicole will be graduating in December as a Business Management Marketing major, BYU-Idaho and she too has a very exciting life planned ahead of her. She is always on the go and hanging out with Morgan, a great guy she met at school who also lives on the central coast. She leaves next week for school; I will really miss her - it's been so much fun having her home, even just for a little while. My little Coli-bird is ready to fly the nest - its the life cycle!

This has been a memorable week - Dani's baby shower was this week, it was a beautiful evening filled with great friends and family showering her with beautiful gifts. And then, we all met for dinner at one of our fav restaurants, Firestone's celebrating several life events - - an early Bday for me, Coli's last semester of college, and the stork's anticipated arrival! And then, me and hubs will soon be on vacation at Lake Powell - I love being a lounge lizard!
